Interior design and decoration is a creative field that includes allocation, distribution and utilization of space that is aesthetically pleasing to the user and help in performing their tasks efficiently. Interior design is the fundamental component of the competitiveness, effectiveness, and sustainability and it plays a very crucial role in human behavior, attitudes, and performance. The purpose of the course in interior design and decoration is to impart knowledge, skill and train the students to become professionals with the acumen to create aesthetically functional spaces and emerge into a work friendly environment. The objective of the course is to train the students to apply the skill of design to represent manually and through Computer Aided Designing for product design, furniture and Interior space installations.

The PG programme in interior designing ultimately aims at equipping the students with necessary knowledge and develops capacities in the conceptual and scientific approaches to human resources and workplace management thus mould them to contribute to a wide spectrum of career options globally. The program aims at promoting a holistic approach to the designing process by simultaneously involving inputs from theory, allied subjects and electives into interior design and decoration.

Eligibility for Master’s Degree in Interior Design Candidates aspiring for admission to the course are required to fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria.

Eligibility

Graduation completed from a recognized educational Board/ University. Preferably, graduation needs to have been completed in any of the following streams

• B.Sc. Interior Design and Decoration

A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the level of graduation. Candidates appearing for their final graduation-level examination are also eligible to apply for the course on provisional basis.
